The first thing we learn about God in the Bible is that He is creative (Gen. 1:1) and a few verses later we learn that we are created in His image (Gen. 1:27). This means God created us to also be creative.
In Exodus we learn that the first person the Bible mentions being given the gift of the Holy Spirit is an artist, Bezalel. (Exd. 31:2-3) Why are these things important? It goes to show that creativity and artists are important to God and we share a creative spirit. If artists are important to God then they should be important to us as Christians as well.
However, visual arts seem to be an often overlooked area of ministry and importance in the church and the Christian world in modern times. We, Heart for the Arts, have seen this need for a visual arts ministry in our world and in our community. We have taken up the call to bring together Christian visual artists and encourage them to use their God-given talents and creativity to inspire others to Christ through their art. Heart for the Arts Studio Arts is the visual arts branch of the Heart for the Arts community arts organization in Central Florida.
We are actively making plans and preparations to kick-off our Studio Arts branch of Heart for the Arts sometime in the Fall of 2025. We’d really love to have you join us—no matter what kind of art you make or whether you’re a pro or just getting started! Please fill out the form below so we can keep in touch and let you know when our kick-off event will take place! In the meantime, scroll down further and read more about our plans and how you can support us, even if you're not able to join us. We would also love it if you could keep this ministry in your prayers. We can't wait to meet you and see your art work!
If you have any questions or would like more information
about Heart for the Arts Studio Arts, please send us an email!
We will meet regularly to fellowship together, share our art, our faith walk, our struggles and triumphs, and encourage each other in our art and faith. We will give encouraging/constructive feedback on current artwork at member artists requests, and discuss all things related to art and God.
We will host art-making events open to the community—a chance for people to relax, get creative, and simply enjoy making something with their hands and seeing their ideas become a reality. Our member artists will assist in these community outreach events.
Our member artists will have the opportunity to participate in art shows, fairs, and exhibits to learn how to exhibit their work and even have opportunities to sell their art. Some of these opportunities will be fundraisers for our organization and some will be solely for the experience and exposure for our member artists.
We look forward to bringing in guest artists to speak to our member artists on a variety of art related topics. We will host workshops for member artists to learn more about different art mediums and observe demonstrations on how guest and member artists execute their craft. These events will be for member artists only.
We want to be a light in our community and the church so we will always be on the lookout for opportunities to share the healing, hope, and peace that comes from making and viewing art in our community and churches through projects, exhibits, or events we want everyone to see what God can do when we use our God-given creativity and partner with the original creator in spreading the message of the love and hope we have in our Savior Jesus Christ. If you know of an opportunity or a need that art can provide for please reach out to us! We would love to discuss it with you!
As a nonprofit organization we rely on the generous support of our patrons and donors. You can also make a financial donation by clicking on Become a Patron at the top of the page. We also appreciate your prayers for this new ministry, please pray that we might reach those who need what we can provide and that we may provide what our members need and through it all that we might glorify our Heavenly Father.
